Gale has occupied and important place in Irish art since the 1990s. His photo-realist work responds to the Irish landscape, and how people interact with it. Employing both oils and watercolour his landscapes reject romantic ideals and create a dark and edgy commentary on rural life, lonely figures look away from the viewer, a circus tent or a trampolines sits in deserted field. This edition is present by IMMA in association with the artist and The Graphic Studio, Dublin to accompany the exhibition
