Richard Overy is one of Britain's most distinguished historians. He is Honorary Research Professor at the University of Exeter. His books include Blood and Ruins: The Great Imperial War, 1932-45, winner of the Duke of Wellington Medal for Military History, The Dictators, winner of the 2005 Wolfson Prize, and The Bombing War, which won a Cundill Award. He is a fellow of the British Academy and a Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
