When a greedy king and queen arrive in Ireland and try to raise taxes, the Travelling people flee, since they live in a barter economy and have no money. Some of them are caught and jailed by the king’s soldiers, but the King of the Travellers and a small boy and girl escape.
The Fairy Queen comes to their rescue, turning the Travellers into tiny people so they can evade the soldiers and escape from jail. She also gives the King of the Travellers special magic powers.
The King of the Travellers has magics the soldiers out of Ireland, the greedy king and queen leave with empty pockets and the Fairy Queen turns those of the Travellers who wish it back to human size.
Told with passion and humour, this delightful tale will entertain children everywhere.
