DESCRIPTION


This unique edition by English artist Liam Gillick and Philiipe Parreno was created on the occasion of the exhibition .all hawaii eNtrées / luNar reGGae, at IMMA on 2006. The title is a collaborative work by Parreno and Gillick is an anagram of the Irish and English words that make up the name of the gallery the exhibition was held in, 'New Galleries / Galleraithe Nua.' Each individual letter is to be positioned individually


BIOGRAPHY


Born inEngland in 1964, Liam Gillick graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 1987. Gillick has been exhibiting internationally since the beginning of the 1990s. He was short-listed for the Turner Prize in 2002 and has had solo exhibitions, amongst others, at The Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, 2002; The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2003; Baltimore Museum of Art, USA, 2005; Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2005 and Venice Biennale, German Pavilion, 2009. In 2009 IMMA exhibited Gillick’s installation work, Literally Based on H.Z., 2006, which was acquired for the IMMA Collection in 2007.
